Where to Get Cheap Clothes Online

Finding places to buy cheap clothing is one of the best ways to save money.

Online shopping site owners know they need to stay competitive if they’re going to win your business, so they work to purchase and then resell clothing items at low prices.

Here are some online sites where you can get cheap clothes of all kinds.

1. Shein.com

Shein is my oldest daughter’s go-to online clothes shopping site. She loves the designs, and the prices are among the lowest we’ve seen.

Shein sells a variety of clothing, including:

  • Tees, blouses, tanks, and sweatshirts
  • Jeans
  • Sweatpants, leggings, and athletic wear
  • Lingerie
  • Dresses
  • Outerwear
  • Shoes and accessories

And more. Shipping is free on orders over $49, and you can often find discount coupons on the site to help you save even more money.

You can return items from your order within 45 days of purchase. Your first return from any order is free, but additional returns from the same order will cost a $7.99 return shipping fee.

2. Zulily

Zulily sells clothing for all ages. Since they buy closeout items from top name brand stores, you get great deals on designer clothing.

You will pay for shipping on your first Zulily order of the day. However, subsequent orders on the same day qualify for free shipping. Orders placed on Friday or Saturday qualify you for free shipping on orders for the remainder of the weekend.

Note that returns to Zulily will qualify for store credit but not for a refund of the initial payment.

P.S. Check out Zulily’s collection of rock and roll t-shirts for some added fun to your shopping experience.

4. eBay

You can purchase men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing on eBay offers men’s, women’s, and kids’ clothing for sale. Buy from private sellers or businesses.

One nice thing about buying cheap clothes on eBay is that the selection includes items you may not find anywhere else. Think vintage or hard-to-find items.

The return policy depends on the seller, as do the shipping rates. Check seller ratings and reviews to ensure you’re working with a trusted seller.

5. Amazon

Amazon is probably the most popular online clothing retailer. Remember that you’ll choose from Amazon-stocked items and third-party sellers when you buy from Amazon.

Return policies on Amazon are pretty flexible when you buy directly from Amazon. Third-party return policies will vary; check before you buy.

You can get free shipping on Amazon-stocked clothing on special free shipping days or by becoming an Amazon Prime member. However, you may pay shipping fees if you buy from a third party. Check customer reviews for more information when selecting clothing items to buy on Amazon.

The customer reviews on Amazon are great for giving you an insight into the company that makes the clothing and the quality of the individual clothing item.

ClothingUnder10 sells junior clothes for girls, and as the name implies, nothing costs over $10. You can find bottoms, tops, activewear, lingerie, sleepwear, and more on ClothingUnder10.

Where to Get Cheap Clothes Near You

There are also many options for getting cheap clothes near you. The benefit of shopping locally is getting your clothes right away and avoiding waiting for shipments. Here are some great options for getting cheap clothing in your area.

10. Walmart

We buy many clothes at Walmart simply because the prices are so low. Note that you may want to be picky about what you buy at Walmart. Prices are low, but sometimes the quality is also.

However, with some detective work, you can find great clothing for men, women, and children at low prices when shopping at Walmart.

Walmart has a pretty liberal return policy as well, with or without your receipt.

11. Goodwill Stores

There are more than 3,200 Goodwill retail stores in existence. You can find men’s, women’s, and kids’ clothing at Goodwill stores.

Goodwill merchandise can be new or used, but most items are in good condition and sold at great prices.

Goodwill stores often have special discount days, such as senior discount days, clothing discount days, and student discount days. Visit a Goodwill store near you to find out about the store’s discount days and to buy cheap clothes near you.

12. Local Thrift Stores

Cities around the U.S. are full of local, non-chain thrift stores where purchases benefit various social programs.

For instance, Family Pathways of Minnesota operates ten thrift stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

When you shop at local, non-chain thrift stores, you can get great deals on cheap clothing. And your purchases benefit a variety of causes, such as feeding the hungry and helping families recover from domestic violence.

Do an internet search for “thrift stores near me” to find local non-chain thrift stores where you can find cheap clothes and support important causes.

13. Department Store Clearance Racks

Department store clearance racks are another great option for finding cheap clothes locally.

It doesn’t matter whether you shop at Target, Nordstrom, or Macy’s – all stores are eager to clear clothing racks regularly and make space for new arrivals.

Check often to find the best deals on cheap clothing at department stores, but pay special attention to end-of-the-season sales when stores markdown items significantly to make way for new clothes.

Hint: Traditional “end of season” differs from the store’s “end of the season.” For instance, you may want to start checking for clearance sales on summer items as early as June.

14. Craigslist

Craigslist was one of the first sites that made it possible for people to sell their stuff online. You can find clothing for really cheap on Craigslist, as most sellers want their items gone.

Check out Craigslist’s “free” section for extra savings on clothes – especially if you’re searching for baby or kid’s clothing items.

Note that any time you’re buying or selling from a local site such as Craigslist, you’ll want to make sure you use safety precautions such as meeting in a public place and letting someone know where you’re going and when you’ll be back.

15. OfferUp

OfferUp is an online site similar to Craigslist, focusing on buying and selling locally.

The OfferUp website is more appealing to many buyers in that you can see photos of clothing and other items right on the home page.

As an FYI, you may have to sift through some overpriced items to find the best deals on clothing.

I’ve noticed that some people overprice their used items on sites like OfferUp and Craigslist. But the great deals are there to be found.

16. Garage Sales

There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned garage sale to find great prices on clothing in your area. Pay special attention to community garage sales, where members of communities are encouraged to hold sales on specific weekends.

The competition of community sales makes sellers more eager to bargain on prices, but you will have to contend with many other buyers.

If you find something you love, jump on it – search community newspapers for details about individual garage sales or community-wide garage sales.

17. Your Local Community FB Garage Sale Page

I love shopping for clothes on my ccommunity’sFacebook garage sale page for two reasons: savings and convenience. In other words, you can find great deals on clothing, and you don’t have to go very far to get those deals.

Community garage sales fill their Facebook Group pages with items for sale, and sellers are often willing to bargain. These are often private groups, so you’ll need to ask to join before you can get access to cheap clothes for sale.

18. Friend Clothing Swap

Another way to get cheap clothes is to get together with friends who wear similar sizes or have kids in similar sizes and do a clothing swap.

You can swap similarly valued items or buy directly from each other if you don’t have anything to swap out.

Some friends make party dates out of clothing swaps. It’s a great way to get new or different clothing and to have fun while you’re at it.

Summary

If you’re wondering where to get cheap clothes, there’s no shortage of options. Whether you want online deals or local deals, you can find affordable clothing if you’re willing to look. I recommend using the retailers listed above to help get the most out of your budget.
