7 Ways to Get Free Stuff Directly From Amazon

Check out these ideas if you’re searching for free stuff from Amazon. Take advantage of one or all available options.

1. Get a Free 30-Day Trial of Amazon Prime

Amazon offers Amazon Prime with a free 30-day trial to new customers. After that, the price is $15 per month or $139 per year.

Even if you have had a Prime membership in the past, you may be eligible to get a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime Video. Check your Amazon account and look at your checkout page for offers. I’ve had several free Amazon Prime 30-day trials over the last couple of years.

I’ll use the trial, cancel the membership before the free trial ends, and simply wait for another offer. That’s the catch you must be aware of: Cancel the trial before it ends, or you’ll automatically be added to a monthly subscription.

2. Get Invited to Amazon Vine

Amazon Vine is a program in which Amazon’s top reviewers receive free products for the purpose of reviewing those new or pre-sale products.

However, there is a catch – you have to be invited to join.

How do you get an invitation? By leaving quality reviews on the site. If Amazon Vine interests you, start leaving reviews for items you’ve purchased from Amazon.

Be sure your reviews are authentic and thorough. Since Amazon keeps track of quality reviewers on a leaderboard, well-written reviews will garner their attention.

3. Sign Up for Amazon’s Audible

If you sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon’s Audible Premium Plus, you’ll get 30 free days of free audiobook access. You’ll also get a free audiobook selection you can keep just for signing up.

Amazon Audible has thousands of audiobook selections, from fiction to children’s books to educational books and more, including podcasts.

You can sign up for Audible Plus or Audible Premium Plus. As a Premium Plus member, you’ll get a 30% discount on any title you want to buy.

You’ll also get access to exclusive sales that non-Premium members don’t see.

Audible Plus is $7.95 per month after your free trial ends, and Premium Plus is $14.95 monthly.

4. Sign Up for an Amazon Baby Registry

Amazon offers baby registry programs, and each person who creates a registry qualifies for a free Welcome Box containing a bunch of freebies.

For instance, a baby registry participant may receive full, travel-size, and sample baby products.

Note that there are some stipulations to receiving the free Welcome Box. You must be an Amazon Prime member.

Also, you must add 60% of your baby checklist items to your baby registry. Lastly, you must have over $10 of items purchased from your registry, either by you or someone else.

See Amazon’s other registry options for additional opportunities.

5. Get a Chase Amazon Rewards Card

The Chase Amazon Rewards credit card will give you 5% cash back on all Amazon purchases and 2% cash back at gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants.

You can use the cash back you earn to get all kinds of free stuff from Amazon, and the rewards add up quickly.

Last year I earned over $150 in cash back with my Chase Amazon Rewards card. That’s a lot of free stuff from Amazon (I use the cash back to make future Amazon purchases.)

Amazon makes it easy to apply your earned cash right at checkout.

If your credit isn’t great and you can’t qualify for an Amazon Credit card, check out a credit builder card, like the Extra Debit card. It was created to help people increase their credit scores.

6. Trade in Your Old Electronics

Amazon has a trade-in program where you can trade in old electronics and get a free Amazon gift card. You can trade in cell phones, tablets, home security devices, streaming devices, and more.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Fill out the trade-in form describing your product.
  2. Use the free prepaid shipping label to send your product to Amazon.
  3. Wait for acceptance of your product from Amazon experts.
  4. Get your free gift card for the appraised value of the product.

You’ll also receive up to 25% off of a new qualifying Amazon device. Note that not all old electronics are eligible for trade-in.

Electronics that are sent in and don’t qualify for the trade-in program cannot be sent back to you.

7. Sign Up for Amazon Music Unlimited

Amazon Music Unlimited offers free access to 100 million songs when you purchase a subscription for $8.99 per month. However, you can get a 3-month free trial when you sign up as a new member, so you can listen to music free for three months.

The songs are ad-free, you get unlimited skips, you can listen offline, and the program offers thousands of ad-free podcasts.

You can listen in HD at no additional cost too. The offer is available to new subscribers only.

Other Ways to Get Free Amazon Gift Cards

Another way to get free stuff from Amazon is by joining paid survey & cash-back websites that let you earn free Amazon gift cards. These websites are free to join, and you can earn rewards by completing various activities in your spare time.

8. Survey Junkie

Survey Junkie is a reputable paid survey site. The points you earn through Survey Junkie can be redeemed for Amazon gift cards. There are two ways you can participate:

  1. By completing your profile and completing surveys that you qualify for
  2. By downloading the SJ Pulse extension or app and sharing your browsing activity

Companies hire Survey Junkie to conduct market research. By completing surveys, you have a small say in the new products coming to market.

In addition to Amazon gift cards, you can use your points to get PayPal cash and gift cards to other retailers. For more information, check out our Survey Junkie Review.

9. TopCashback

TopCashback rewards you for shopping online through their site portal. You can earn anywhere from 1% to 20% cash back when you access your favorite stores through TopCashback.

When you use the TopCashback portal to shop at your favorite stores, TopCashbank will credit your account with your earnings.

You can exchange your rewards for free Amazon gift cards, PayPal cash, or other retailer gift cards.

10. InboxDollars

InboxDollars is a get-paid-to site that will pay you to complete various activities. Here are some of the ways you can make money:

What’s different about InboxDollars is that you earn actual cash, not points. So there’s no worrying about converting points to cash.

In addition, you can use your cash to get PayPal cash or gift cards from hundreds of retailers, including Amazon.

Learn more about InboxDollars in our full review.

11. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is another highly-rated site that lets you complete surveys, play games, and more to earn free Amazon gift cards and get free Amazon stuff.

The site has paid out over $800 million in prizes so far. You can earn points (called SB) for activities such as:

  • Taking surveys
  • Playing games
  • Shopping online
  • Browsing the internet

And more. Convert your earned SB into free Amazon gift cards when you’ve earned as little as one penny.

Read our full review of Swagbucks for more information on how to get free Amazon gift cards and other prizes from Swagbucks.

12. Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost is another survey site that helps you earn free Amazon gift cards. When you sign up for a free account with Opinion Outpost, you’ll earn points every time you complete a survey or try out a product.

You can also earn points for ad reviews, diary studies (keeping track of your habits), and taking part in focus groups.

Use your points to get your free Amazon gift cards or choose other prizes such as PayPal money, gift cards to other retailers, or donations to charity.

The Bottom Line

As you can see, getting free stuff from Amazon is easy if you know where to look. When it comes to the free trial offers, the key to not spending extra money is to ensure you cancel the subscriptions before the free-trial period ends. You can always join again in the future.

The bottom line is that you can enjoy Amazon’s great products and services by using the tips I’ve shared while saving hundreds of dollars per year.
